伊賀忍者特殊軍団 阿修羅（あしゅら）
〜伊賀の魂を今に伝える、真の忍びたち〜
「忍者とは何か？」
その問いの答えを、まさに体現し続けておる忍者集団が、三重県は伊賀の地に存在する。
その名も――伊賀流忍者特殊軍団 阿修羅（あしゅら）。
時は令和となれど、この集団はまさに「現代に生きる本物の忍者」。
技と精神、そして歴史を背負い、今日も演武に命を懸けておるのじゃ。
起源と歩み――「阿修羅」の誕生
阿修羅の始まりは、1987年。
当初は「浮組」という名で、わずか8名の精鋭たちによって結成されたのじゃ。
その後、1989年に現在の「阿修羅」へと改名。
拠点は伊賀市の上野公園内にある伊賀流忍者博物館。
ここにて連日、忍術ショーを繰り広げておる。
2001年には専用のステージ「忍術ひろば」が整備され、年間およそ1,200回以上の演武をこなしておるというから驚きじゃ！
その歩みは、まさに「現代忍者道」の体現とも言えるのう。
海を越えて世界へ――国際的な活躍
阿修羅の名は、日本国内にとどまらぬ。
台湾、韓国、アメリカ（ハワイ・ワシントン・ニューヨーク）、中国、スペイン、フランス、イタリア、ブラジル、タイ、イギリス……
数々の国々にて忍術ショーを披露し、その圧倒的な技と美しさ、そして精神性で観客を魅了し続けておる。
特筆すべきは、2018年9月、ロンドン・トラファルガー広場での「ジャパン祭り」にて、メインステージでの演武を披露。
まさに、伊賀の誇りを世界へ届ける者たちじゃ。
忍者遺産の守り手――日本遺産との関わり
2017年、伊賀と甲賀は共同で「忍びの里 伊賀・甲賀」として日本遺産に認定された。
その中心的な存在こそ、阿修羅である。
2019年には、「みえの国観光大使」および「伊賀市観光大使」としての委嘱も受け、地域と共に、忍者文化の普及と継承に力を注いでおる。
忍びとは、歴史を背負い、未来へと紡ぐ者なり――まさに阿修羅の姿は、その教えを体現しておるのじゃ。
忍びの絆――岡山忍者隊「葉隠」との兄弟関係
さて、ここで少しばかり“兄弟の話”を。
実はこの阿修羅、岡山忍者隊「葉隠」とは深き縁で結ばれておるのじゃ。
阿修羅の頭領・浮田半蔵（うきた はんぞう）殿は、岡山城初代城主・宇喜多秀家（うきた ひでいえ）の血筋を継ぐ宇喜多→浮田の流れを汲むお方。
このご縁ゆえに、岡山を第二の故郷のごとく大切に思い、岡山忍者隊「葉隠」を兄弟分として可愛がってくださっておるのじゃ。
その絆のあかしとして、「葉隠」の面々は毎年伊賀の地を訪れ、阿修羅のもとで修行を重ねておる。
殺陣、武術、所作、そして忍びとしての精神――
あらゆる面において己を磨き、鍛える場として、この伊賀修行はまさに“現代における修験の道”とも呼べる神聖なものである。
さらに、この兄弟の縁は伊賀の地でも深く受け入れられておる。
たとえば、伊賀の宝珠院にて行われる火渡り修行の際には、そのご縁により「葉隠」が演武奉納の大役を仰せつかり、参加者や地域の方々の前で魂を込めた演武を披露させていただいたこともあるのじゃ。
これこそが、真の「忍びの連携」。
時を越え、土地を越え、心でつながる忍びの絆なのである。
真剣、手裏剣、火矢、そして笑い？――阿修羅の演武とは
阿修羅の演武は、ただ斬って斬るだけの戦ではない。
・真剣による抜刀術
・鎖鎌や手裏剣の技巧
・火矢や煙玉を用いた演出
・そして、観客との“笑い”のやり取り
硬軟織り交ぜたこの演出が、老若男女・国境を問わず楽しめる「忍術ショー」として、各地で好評を博しておるのじゃ。

阿修羅のもうひとつの使命は、「伝承」じゃ。
次なる世代に忍術を伝え、真の「正心」を持つ者を育てること。
これは単なるパフォーマンス団体では決してできぬ業（わざ）よ。
厳しい稽古と、選ばれし者のみが得る名。
そこにあるのは、武士道と同じく、“生き様”の伝承である。
忍者とは――そして阿修羅とは

争いを避け、影で事を成し、和を以って乱を治める。

If there’s a group that continues to embody the answer to that question, it surely resides in Iga, Mie Prefecture.
Their name: Iga-ryu Ninja Special Forces Ashura.
Though the times have moved into the Reiwa era, this group stands as living, breathing “real ninja of the modern age.”
With skill, spirit, and tradition on their backs, they dedicate their lives to their performances even today.
Origins and Journey – The Birth of “Ashura”
Ashura began in 1987, originally formed under the name “Ukigumi,” with only eight elite members.
In 1989, they adopted their current name: Ashura.
Their base of operations is the Iga-ryu Ninja Museum in Ueno Park, Iga City.
Here, they perform ninja shows daily, and since 2001, they have had a dedicated stage called the “Ninjutsu Hiroba” (Ninjutsu Plaza), where they hold over 1,200 performances each year.
Their journey is nothing short of the embodiment of the “Way of the Modern Ninja.”
Across the Seas – Global Activities
Ashura’s fame is not confined to Japan.
They have performed ninja shows in Taiwan, Korea, the United States (Hawaii, Washington, New York), China, Spain, France, Italy, Brazil, Thailand, and the United Kingdom, among others.
Notably, in September 2018, they took to the main stage at Trafalgar Square during the “Japan Matsuri” in London, delivering a breathtaking performance.
Truly, they are ambassadors of Iga’s pride to the world.
Guardians of the Ninja Heritage – Japan Heritage Recognition
In 2017, Iga and Koka were jointly designated as a Japan Heritage site under the title “The Ninja Homeland: Iga and Koka.”
Ashura plays a central role in this recognition.
In 2019, they were appointed as “Mie Prefecture Tourism Ambassadors” and “Iga City Tourism Ambassadors,” actively working to preserve and promote ninja culture.
As bearers of history and bridge-builders to the future, Ashura truly represents the very teachings of the ninja path.
Bonds of the Shinobi – Brotherhood with Okayama Ninja Team “Hagakure”
Let us now speak of brotherhood.
Ashura and the Okayama Ninja Team “Hagakure” share a deep and enduring bond.
Ashura’s leader, Ukita Hanzo, is of the Ukita lineage, descending from Ukita Hideie, the first lord of Okayama Castle.
With such a profound historical connection to Okayama, he regards it as a second home and warmly considers Hagakure his brother team.
In recognition of this bond, members of Hagakure visit Iga every year to train under Ashura.
From tate (combat choreography), martial arts, proper movements, to the spirit of shinobi, this training has become a sacred rite—a modern path of Shugendo, one could say.
This connection is deeply honored even within Iga itself.
During the fire-walking rituals at Hoju-in Temple, thanks to their fraternal ties, Hagakure was given the honor of performing a sacred dedication, captivating both the local participants and the temple community with their impassioned display.
This is the true connection among shinobi—
beyond time, beyond borders, bound by spirit.
Ashura’s Performances – From Real Blades to Laughter
Ashura’s performances are not merely sword fights. They are full theatrical spectacles.
・Real swords and precise battōjutsu
・Skilled techniques with kusarigama (chain-sickles) and shuriken
・Special effects with fire arrows and smoke bombs

This blend of intensity and levity makes their shows universally loved by all ages and cultures.
Behind the spectacle lies constant training and an unyielding pursuit of new techniques.
Indeed, to be a ninja is to continually evolve.

Ashura has another crucial mission: preservation and succession.
They seek to train the next generation in the true essence of ninjutsu and to cultivate those with a righteous heart—“Seishin” (pure spirit).
This is a task far beyond mere entertainment.
With rigorous training and a title earned only through true merit,
the teachings they pass on are not just techniques, but ways of living, much like bushidō.
What Is a Ninja – And What Is Ashura?
A ninja is not merely a warrior.
A ninja is one who avoids conflict, achieves results in the shadows, and brings harmony to disorder.
That is the true ninja spirit, and it is this spirit that Ashura’s performances embody.
